The problem
Test data lived in personal folders across SharePoint. When engineers left, their data and their methods left with them. New starters spent hours finding past results, and nobody could audit the data in a consistent way.
The solution
Built a database with a schema for geotechnical data. RQD, RMR, UCS, PLT and Is(50) each have the correct units and validation rules.
Bulk CSV upload fixes common errors such as date formats and mixed units. Data is queryable the same day you upload it, and trend calculations run on it straight away.
Interactive charts for dense data such as LAS files. Filter by rock type, weathering grade and depth interval, then export charts ready for a report.
The result
Engineers find past test results in seconds without asking the person who ran the test. Collecting data for a report used to take an afternoon of digging through folders. Now it is a filter and an export.
